Large room, excellent staff, good breakfast, temperature control in room worked great, large bathroom, very clean, best part was the quite, no rowdy or noisy guests, made for a great night of sleep.
Linden row was nice! The room was comfortable and the service was good. The hotel appears to be a compartmentalized block of rowhouses, just charming, with a neat courtyard and reasonably sized rooms. We stayed on the bottom floor.
Our room had no Windows to admit sunlight, which was disappointing to me. I think rooms on floors further up would fare better; we were on the ground floor, no doubt due to our last minute booking.
Historic property. Great location in central Richmond, just a short walk away from Capital grounds, restaurants, and James riverfront. Friendly efficient staff. Valet parking. A great small diner type restaurant called Perly's is great for a quick nearby breakfast, lunch or dinner.
Upkeep of the building is lagging, so you are confronted with peeling paint, weathering, etc, particularly on the outside. The most uncomfortable bed I've experienced at a hotel.
The room was smelly and the window couldn't open. The receptionist was very unfriendly.
Some of the staff were sweet hearts, meaning wonderful people with their heart on the right spot. This is what I liked most about this place: the people. Also, I liked the fact that they have a free shuttle service. The 2nd room they gave me was great: cozy with old furniture, clean, a great little bathroom, just right in size. The place has a kind of charm which could be described with "old world" or so.
Unfortunately, there are two points that I have to point out: 1.The breakfast was terrible: brown tainted water they called "coffee", sweet sugary buns, cakes and rolls .... not my taste and not what I would call a "healthy start into the day".2. The WIFI reception was sometimes there and sometimes not. You just never knew. The staff was willing and able to reset the connections, still somewhat nerve wracking if you need to work with the internet.
Linden Row is a registered historic site. You feel like you're back in 19th century Richmond.
Loved the inn's decor and comfort. Friendly, helpful staff. Homey atmosphere.
The hotel has character - it is near the Jefferson Hotel, but much less expensive. I liked the carriage house.
The comforter was too hot. They need a little table/desk to use a laptop. The room was cosy and had charm.
This inn is utterly charming and unique; we were enchanted by its layout and the garden courtyard at the heart of the hotel. It's a historic property--something that's reflected in the decor, which might be described as "shabby chic"--although the bathrooms are modern, internet is free and the beds and bedding clean, inviting and comfortable. The staff was extremely pleasant, helpful and professional.
The A/C did not function our second night.
the hotel has a old class feel to it, it has a lot of potental, but falls very short of trying to get there.
seemed to be runned down, not alot of work done to improve the guest experance.
Interesting historic hotel, close to museums and downtown restaurants
Convenient. Kind staff. Quaint
Side TV, moldy smell, loud stair well that you could hear downstairs.
It is an older building with lots of historic charm. Close to historic attractions. Room were clean. Breakfast could have been a little more substantial, but it was sufficient. Price of the room was very reasonable. Staff very friendly, cheerful, helpful and knowledgable about the city and surroundings and attractions and the history of the city. Enjoyed our stay and would stay again if we ever get back to Richmond.
Our room was in one of the outer buildings, so we had to carry our luggage up a few stairs outside then up a fight of stairs inside that outer building. Luckily a young gentleman employee came to our aid.
I didn't like that our first room had not been cleaned. In addition I found the overall appearance to be lacking. There was paint all over the door knob and furniture, the carpeting was ragged at edges at clearly not properly installed. The fit and finish was below what I expected.
